Why isn't my username change reflected in the games I'm playing?

You are able to change your avatar's name during the episode. In order to do so, tap 'Resume', then tap the person icon above the episode description. From here, tap the pencil and then you can change the current avatar name used for this game. Please be sure to tap the check mark to confirm your changes.
